Some years ago, a friend of mine asked me about this ring.
The request came from a well qualified person, rich in culture and knowledge.
She was asking me about that because of some books I wrote, like Torah Atziluth, Kohen Qabbalah, The God of Eden, Occult origin of Enlightenment. Maybe she imagined more than I am able to understand. Anyway, the stone mounted on the ring is really amazing. Before entering the alphabetical level, there are some symbols easily recognizable, just like the cross inside the circle in the right at the bottom, and close to this, the triple number.
I answered according to the reference I may have found in some books of mine which I collected from around Europe and the Mediterranean, concerning old wisdom. I am no more able to find that first letter. Anyway, there was a second one that I can transcribe here, and where I found these words:
“…of course I imagined that you already knew the genealogical information that I indicated in the previous letter. I sent them to see if I was on the right track and, from what I understood, it seems so.The equivalence between the four crosses of the flag of Georgia and of both these with the crusader symbol of Jerusalem cannot be considered made by chance. The characters suggest, more than ancient Greek or Coptic, late medieval codices such as those of Trithemius or John Dee, of which the system of characters that is presented appears to be a variant, and it seems to be possible to read with reasonable ease, under the ornamental characters of the border, the name “Hermes”, while on the second line it seems to be possible to read “Trismes” and AIO (as permutation of IAO) which seems to give allusive reference to the secret name of Gnostic knowledge (to which the Hermetic tradition alludes).
Finally, the two circled crosses allude to the traditional emblem of the “kingdom” (in the Qabalah, the sephirah Malkuth) as well as the number 666 expresses the dominion of the Sun over the Earth. The hypothesis must be corroborated with more evidence, however, even if the final interpretation were not perfect, the following remain highly reliable:
1) the reference of the text to an alchemical alphabet on the model of medieval ciphers;
2) the Gnostic-Kabbalistic-alchemical nature of the seal.”
A final point is to not be forgotten: the stone where the letters and the symbols are impressed. This is a Rubin Tablet. Then, we must come back to the Hermes Trismegistus Emerald Tablet, considering in the first line of analysis that in the color’s theory, green is another form of red – green being formed by the complementary primary colours of red, a mix of blue and yellow.
In a second line, the analysis may be pulled out until the level of something that the Tradition refers to as the stones given to the first born of the Archangel Ratziel, as signs of power over the transformation/regeneration/transmutation of the earth.
The authenticity of both Rubin and Emerald Tablet has been questioned by researchers. Especially the Rubin one, according to some sources, seems not to appear in literature until Gastone Ventura, who lived in the XX century. It should be note that the stone seems to be Agatha, and not a Rubin. This is not for the worst: while Rubin is full of passion, Agatha gives strength in self-trusting and harmonious relationships. All this got a part in the “Mysteriis Rosae Rubeae”.
