The Luis Vives Foundation (www.fundacionluisvives.org) in Madrid, Spain is looking for partners for a Leonardo project.
Deadline: January 31, 2011
Interested NGO are asked to contact directly Luis Perea: l.perea (+34 540 08 78)
SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT:
The project proposed by the Luis Vives Foundation and our strategic partners, “Walking together in Europe for Social Action 2011”, has as its aim to enable the development of the technical capacities and skills of the participants in the Non-Profit Organization Management Program and other technical training programs, through their placement training in leading European organizations in the field of social action. This on-the-job training allows the intern to learn in detail and from the inside, how a first rate European Organization works. It is a privileged position to use the tools and skills acquired in the training program. In order to do this, each intern will carry out a supervised study of the different working aspects of each organization, focusing on the organizational and communication aspects of the entity. This project is in line with the features and requirements of the current labor market, in which mobility and transnationality are a key element to face the challenges of globalization. The on-the-job training given has allowed the students to broaden their skills along these lines, providing added value to their work experience. The length of the stay is four weeks and this duration has been deemed adequate due to the fact that the profile of the participants (Third Sector professionals) would make a lengthier stay impractical and interfere with their daily work.
The project’s aims are:
• To broaden the curricular and technical/professional skills of the students through their on-the-job training in an NPO operating in a European country.
• To widen the educational and training offer of the Non-Profit Organization Management Program through the inclusion of a placement program in European NPO’s.
• To increase the visibility and European presence in the Non-Profit Organization Management Program.
Thanks to this grant students will be able to:
• Work in a country and environment that is different to theirs, providing a very important cultural and personal enrichment.
• Become familiar with work in a non-Spanish social entity, making it possible to contrast, styles, ways of work and organization, common problems and specific ones, etc…and the reality with which they work. It is a highly valuable experience for people currently in training or working in this sector in Spain.
• Develop communication and work skills in an intercultural environment.
• Put into practice the knowledge acquired in the training programs
